IR remote · Soundbar
An infrared handset laid out for soundbars — nothing else to configure.
What this platform is for
17A is an infrared handset drawn for soundbars. The upper block is TV, HDMI and dialogue; the lower block is volume, subwoofer and listening modes — the keys a soundbar owner actually reaches for.
It is IR only, with no pairing and no app. For a soundbar sold into retail that is usually the whole requirement: it works out of the box, and it still works after the manual is gone.
Radio and interaction
- IR only: no pairing, no app, no firmware update in the field.
- Key blocks grouped for soundbar use: TV and source above, volume and listening modes below.
- Infrared distance stated as ≥8 m.
What can change per program
- Key grouping — the dialogue, subwoofer and listening-mode keys sit where the product needs them.
- Key map — key count, legend, and the functions behind each key are defined per program.
- Firmware — a configured build for your platform, or a BSP and driver layer for your own application team.
- Appearance — logo, silkscreen, paint, plating or texture, and the retail packaging.
- Certification — CE, FCC, UKCA, KCC or TELEC are scoped to the final configuration and market.
Ranges are platform values for the reference build. The figure that applies to your product is confirmed on the test line and written into the datasheet.

Program
From this platform to your product.
Four steps, the same for every model. Durations depend on how far the key map and housing move from the baseline.
Scope
Key map, radio set, market and certification. This is where a datasheet gets specific.
Sample
A unit built to the agreed configuration, so the hand feel and the key layout can be judged on a desk.
Validation
Range, key life, drop and cleaning checks, plus an EMC pre-scan before the certification lab.
Production
Test specification, fixtures and packaging, released with the approved specification.
The stage-by-stage sequence is set out in Prototype to Production.
